Wise PM interview guide

Wise (formerly TransferWise) runs a Product Manager loop that is heavily builder-oriented and customer-obsessed: it consistently prioritizes evidence of how you scoped and shipped real products, used data to move metrics, and worked across engineering, design, analytics, compliance and sales. The process is typically 4 to 5 stages of about 60 minutes each (customized by role and team): a recruiter screen, a product interview with one or two PMs focused on solving meaningful customer problems, a stakeholder/cross-functional round, and a final interview with one or two Product Leads (sometimes the Chief Product Officer). Some roles add a case study or take-home task. Across sources, Wise emphasizes quantitative storytelling (tie everything back to clear, customer-focused metrics), clear problem definition and prioritization, hypothetical "microtasks" to probe thinking, and values fit (transparency, autonomy, customer impact). Product-sense prompts tend to be Wise-specific (multi-currency accounts, business accounts, recurring international payments, freelancer/SMB cross-border use cases). The interview process

1. Recruiter screen (30 min). Introductory Zoom call focused on your experience, motivations and career aspirations, plus an explanation of the process. Recruiters flag that Wise wants PMs who are quantitatively focused on data, can tell a good story, and tie insights back to metrics.
2. Product interview (60 min, 1-2 PMs). In-depth assessment of product skills and your ability to solve meaningful customer problems. Wise typically opens by discussing a high-impact product you owned recently, then probes how you identified and prioritized the problem, what evidence/customer feedback supported your decision, and how you measured success. Hypothetical 'microtasks' may be used to probe your thinking.
3. Stakeholder / cross-functional round (60 min). Meet the people you'd work with closely. Depending on the team this can include engineers, analysts, designers, compliance leads, operations or sales. Assesses how you influence and collaborate across functions.
4. Case study / take-home (role-dependent). Some roles add a case study, take-home challenge or technical/analytical test. For PMs this can be analyzing a product scenario and delivering a structured proposal (problem definition, user-research approach, prioritized solutions, success metrics, go-to-market), then walking through it in a follow-up discussion.
5. Final interview (60-90 min, Product Leads). Recap and overall assessment with one or two of Wise's Product Leads, and depending on level the Chief Product Officer. Focus on values fit, strategic thinking and leadership for senior roles.
