The interview process

1. Recruiter screen (about 30 min). Phone call on your background, interest in the role, and culture fit, plus a compensation check. The recruiter confirms you have real hardware or semiconductor PM context before passing you on.
2. Hiring manager interview (45 min). Direct manager probes your product experience, working style, and how you think about the specific product line (data center GPU, client, embedded). Expect a mix of behavioral and role-fit questions early.
3. Technical / product deep dive. One or more rounds on product lifecycle management, market analysis, and technical specs. You may be asked to explain GPU architecture, AI/ML workloads, ROCm vs CUDA, and how those tie back to product strategy.
4. Case study or strategy presentation (when used). Some loops ask you to present a product strategy or market analysis for an AMD product line, showing analytical depth and clear communication of a competitive read against Nvidia and Intel.
5. Panel / onsite loop. The most demanding stage: back-to-back rounds with peers, cross-functional partners (field sales managers, engineering leads), and senior leadership, switching fast between behavioral and technical. You present your vision for the product line and how it aligns with AMD's goals.
6. What they're really testing. Three signals carry the most weight: (1) semiconductor and GPU domain fluency, can you reason about architecture, AI/ML workloads, and the software ecosystem; (2) strategic product sense, prioritizing features against market data and balancing roadmap vs major-customer requests; (3) cross-functional influence under ambiguity, shown through concrete behavioral stories with engineering, sales, and leadership.
