The interview process

1. Recruiter screen (30 min). A phone chat on your product background, a feature you launched, and what you know about Wayfair. They check role fit, motivation, and that your cross-functional experience matches the level.
2. Phone interview: mini product case (30 to 45 min). A senior person from the org gives one open-ended Wayfair problem (for example a returns or warehouse-build question). They weigh your structured approach to ambiguity over arriving at a single right answer.

6. Onsite 4: working with stakeholders (45 min). Behavioral round on cross-functional conflict: a difficult partner, goals that clash with yours, and how you work with engineering. They look for influence without authority and communication under tension.
7. Onsite 5: hiring-manager team match (45 min). A more informal conversation with potential managers about fit and which team you would join. Less a pass/fail gate, more about placement.
8. What they're really testing. Three signals dominate: data-informed decision making (you must dive into numbers and quantify your reasoning), customer-centric product sense on Wayfair's actual e-commerce and logistics problems, and cross-functional collaboration and communication under conflict.
