5. What they're really testing. Three signals carry the most weight: genuine motivation and fit with Vertex's mission and pipeline; cross-functional collaboration and handling conflict or difficult stakeholders; and clear communication of complex, technical work to a non-expert room (most visible in the case or presentation).
