The interview process

5. What they're really testing. Three signals dominate: (1) client-first judgment and integrity that match Vanguard's long-term, low-cost investor mission; (2) structured behavioral evidence of leading product work, influencing without authority, and handling conflict, delivered cleanly in STAR form; and (3) domain and analytical depth, often in Fixed Income or the broader investment landscape, plus a clear way to prioritize and measure.
