Texas Instruments has no software-style "Product Manager" title: its closest PM role is the Product Marketing Engineer (PME), which pairs semiconductor technical depth with market and business work. The loop runs about 3 to 4 weeks across roughly 3 rounds (an HR/recruiter screen, then two 45-minute sessions with engineers/hiring managers), and the one thing that defines it is the blend: you must answer real op-amp and circuit questions AND business questions like how an automotive OEM picks chips, in the same loop.

The interview process

1. Recruiter / HR screen (30 min). A phone call that confirms your interest in TI and your fit for the role, covering your motivation, your read on TI's products, and a high-level walk through your product and lifecycle experience. Mostly a fit and logistics filter before the technical rounds.
2. Technical + behavioral round 1 (45 min, with an engineer). A working engineer mixes behavioral questions with semiconductor technical ones (op-amps, basic MOSFET/diode behavior, filter design). They are checking whether you can hold a real circuits conversation, not just talk product.
3. Technical + business / case round 2 (45 min, with an engineer or hiring manager). More technical depth plus market and business framing: how customers select components, product performance, market and promotional strategy, and supply or procurement tradeoffs. Some candidates are asked to prepare a short product or market case study for this stage.
4. Final round / offer discussion. For PM-track candidates this can include a panel or senior-leader conversation and a product case study, then a recruiter discussion on compensation, start date, and role expectations. Confirms alignment more than it re-tests skills.
5. What they're really testing. Three signals carry the most weight: genuine technical credibility in analog/semiconductor fundamentals (they will not accept hand-waving), the ability to connect a chip's features to customer and market decisions (why an OEM buys, how to position and price), and clear, collaborative communication under structured technical questioning.
