StubHub PM interview guide

StubHub's PM loop runs about 4 stages over 4 to 8 weeks: a recruiter screen, one or two behavioral and intro-PM rounds, a take-home built on a real spreadsheet of website performance data, and a hiring-manager close. The one thing that defines it: an analytics-heavy take-home plus an A/B-test read, so they want to see you reason from real marketplace data, not just talk product.

The interview process

1. Recruiter screen (about 30 min). Phone call where the recruiter walks your resume, your background, and why StubHub. They are checking basic fit, motivation, and that your experience maps to the role before spending the team's time.
2. Behavioral and intro-PM rounds (1 to 2 rounds). The first interviews are reported as fairly straightforward: past projects, how you work with cross-functional teams, and how you handle conflict and competing priorities. They are reading your product instincts and collaboration style, not trick questions.
3. Take-home assignment plus data review. You get a spreadsheet of website performance data and answer a mix of data and product-thinking questions, sometimes including reading an A/B test. This is the round that separates candidates: they want a clear, data-driven recommendation you can defend, not hand-waving.
4. Hiring-manager and cross-functional loop. Conversations with the hiring manager and counterparts in analytics, product, and engineering. The HM round covers your experience and a favorite-product-and-how-you-would-improve-it discussion; the cross-functional folks probe how you partner and disagree well.
5. What they're really testing. Three signals carry the most weight: (1) data-driven judgment, reading metrics and an A/B test and turning them into a recommendation; (2) product sense applied to a two-sided ticketing marketplace; (3) cross-functional collaboration, including handling disagreement with engineering and analytics partners.
