Qualtrics PM interview guide

Qualtrics runs a 5 to 6 stage loop over about 2 to 3 weeks: recruiter screen, hiring manager call, a take-home product question set (often 24 hours), then a panel of 4 to 5 back-to-back interviews with PMs and cross-functional stakeholders. The thing that defines the loop is values fit: Qualtrics scores every candidate against its TACOS values (Transparency, All In, Customer Obsession, One Team, Scrappiness) alongside product skill, so behavioral and culture signal carry as much weight as the case work.

The interview process

1. Recruiter screen (30 min). Phone call covering your background, why Qualtrics, and role fit. The recruiter is gauging culture and TACOS-values alignment more than product depth, so expect motivation and fit questions over case work.
2. Hiring manager interview. A deeper conversation on your PM experience: products you have shipped, trade-offs you made, and how you partner with engineering and design. Assesses whether your day-to-day skills match the open role.
3. Take-home product exercise (often ~24 hours). A product question set or written case you complete on your own time, frequently with a 24-hour window. Tests product development thinking, structure, and written communication on a realistic problem.
4. Panel of 4 to 5 back-to-back interviews. A series of one-on-ones with PMs, engineers, and cross-functional partners mixing behavioral, product-sense, and execution questions. Evaluates hard skills, collaboration, and team fit, often including a product-design or improvement case on a Qualtrics product.
5. Final / leadership round. A closing conversation with senior leadership or stakeholders about product vision, prioritization, and strategy. You may present a case study or mock roadmap to show strategic thinking and communication.
6. What they're really testing. Three signals carry the most weight: TACOS values and culture fit (especially customer obsession and scrappiness), customer-centric product judgment shown through case and improvement questions, and concrete collaboration with engineering and design backed by real shipped-product stories.
