Obsidian Security PM interview guide

Obsidian Security runs a long, executive-heavy PM loop that stretches over roughly a month: a recruiter screen, a hiring-manager and team round, then a string of leadership interviews that can include the CEO, CPO, a leadership peer, and the CTO. The interview process

For PM roles, candidates report a homework presentation with follow-up questions; for the Technical PM role, an AI-conducted interview with a timed written exercise. Reviewers note the time given can be tight, so structure your thinking fast and scope ruthlessly.
4. Technical / systems round. A technical and systems-design discussion, sometimes whiteboard-based ("design our system"). For a PM this tests whether you can hold a real conversation about architecture, data, and how a security product detects threats, not just write specs.
5. Executive interviews (CEO, CPO, CTO, leadership peer). Multiple separate conversations with senior leadership spread across the loop. These weigh strategic judgment, security-domain credibility, and whether you raise the bar for the team.
6. What they're really testing. Three signals carry the most weight: technical and security-domain credibility (can you talk products with sophisticated security teams), structured product thinking under time pressure (the demo and written exercise), and leadership fit judged directly by the executive bench across many rounds.
