Marvell PM interview guide

Marvell's interview loop runs about 2 to 3 weeks for most roles (Product Marketing Manager hires can stretch to ~90 days), and moves from a recruiter screen to a hiring-manager conversation to a series of one-on-one onsite rounds with team members, closing on an HR wrap-up. The thing that defines the loop: it is a semiconductor and data-infrastructure company, so even non-engineering candidates get pressed on domain depth and STAR-format behavioral signal far more than on classic Big-Tech product-sense puzzles.

The interview process

1. Recruiter / HR phone screen (~30 min). A recruiter walks through your background, motivation for Marvell, and the role and team. Mostly a fit-and-logistics filter, with the recruiter also describing culture and next steps.
2. Hiring-manager conversation (~30 min). A 30-minute call with the hiring manager that leans on STAR-format behavioral questions: disagreeing with a decision, handling late requirement changes, juggling competing priorities. They are reading judgment and how you work under shifting direction.
3. One-on-one onsite rounds (team panel). A sequence of separate one-on-one interviews with team members and cross-functional partners, each covering a different but connected topic. For technical-adjacent roles expect domain depth (the product area, the underlying technology) plus project deep-dives; communication and collaboration are scored throughout.
4. HR / leadership wrap-up. A closing conversation on behavioral fit, long-term career goals, and alignment with Marvell's values, plus your own questions about the role and company.
5. What they're really testing. Domain and technical depth in Marvell's data-infrastructure world (you must speak credibly about the product and the technology, not just process); structured behavioral judgment under shifting priorities and conflict (STAR answers with concrete examples); and clear cross-functional communication and collaboration across a multi-team panel.
