Marqeta PM interview guide

Marqeta is a modern card-issuing and payments platform (open API for card issuing, processing, and program management) competing in the fintech infrastructure space. Public PM-interview information is moderate in depth: most sources describe the process and the categories of questions clearly, but verbatim PM questions are thinner than at larger fintechs. Across the sources, the consistent picture is a behavioral-heavy process with product sense, strategy, prioritization, and analytical/estimation components, plus a strong emphasis on understanding Marqeta's payments product and how it differentiates in fintech. Several interviewers probe payment-systems fluency (APIs, system design at a conceptual level) even for PM roles. The interview process

1. Recruiter / HR screen (~30 min). Casual conversation about your background and experience, explaining the role, and gauging interest plus understanding of Marqeta's products. Sources note a resume-focused screen with culture-fit signals early.

5. Senior leadership (VP of Product, CPO). Final discussions on strategic thinking, product vision, and alignment with Marqeta's goals and culture. Process spans roughly 1-4 weeks; Senior PM difficulty is rated around 3/5.
