Ironclad PM interview guide

Ironclad runs a five-stage Product Manager loop over about three weeks: recruiter screen, hiring manager, two peer or cross-functional interviews, a demo/presentation to a panel, and a final senior leader interview. The defining feature is that loop centerpiece, a live product presentation, paired with case questions rooted in Ironclad's contract lifecycle management (CLM) domain, so you are judged as much on legal-workflow product sense as on raw PM skill.

The interview process

1. Recruiter screen (30 min). Phone call on resume fit, why Ironclad versus other CLM or legal-tech companies, and compensation expectations. They check baseline PM experience and whether you grasp the contract/legal-workflow domain.
2. Hiring manager interview (45 to 60 min). Deeper dig into your past product work, how you think about problems, and your working philosophy. Expect product-sense and execution prompts framed around Ironclad's CLM platform.
3. Peer / cross-functional interviews (1 to 2 rounds, 45 min each). Sessions with people you would partner with day to day, often engineering or design. They probe collaboration, how you drive delivery cross-functionally, and cultural alignment.
4. Demo / presentation to a panel (onsite). The signature round: you present a product case or demo to a panel and field questions live. They watch structured thinking, prioritization logic, and how you communicate a product decision under scrutiny.
5. Final senior leader interview (VP / executive). Strategy-level conversation with a senior or executive leader on product vision and Ironclad's growth in legal tech. Tests whether your bets connect user needs to business outcomes.
6. What they're really testing. Three signals carry the most weight: product sense applied to messy legal/contract workflows (not generic consumer apps), structured prioritization and execution clarity you can defend live in the panel, and enough domain curiosity about contracts, compliance, and CLM to be credible with legal users.
