Huntress PM interview guide

Huntress runs a relatively short, lightweight loop for a senior PM role: about 3 to 4 weeks end to end (roughly 24 days on average), starting with a 30-minute recruiter screen, moving into two video panel rounds (often two interviewers per call), and closing with a reference check. The one thing that defines it: every round is framed around cybersecurity for small and mid-sized businesses, so they test whether you can turn security and SaaS problems into shippable product decisions, not generic PM polish.

The interview process

1. Recruiter screen (30 min). Phone or video call covering your background, PM experience, and why cybersecurity and Huntress. The recruiter is checking baseline fit, motivation, and that your years and SaaS depth match a senior or staff PM bar.
2. Technical / execution interview (video). A video round on product metrics, analytics, and how you reason with data (SQL, statistics, and analytics come up). They want to see you tie measurement and execution to real product decisions on a SaaS security platform.
3. Behavioral panel (video, often 2 interviewers). You meet a panel of product leaders and stakeholders, sometimes two interviewers per call, who probe leadership style, handling ambiguity in customer needs, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering, design, sales, and marketing. Expect to present or talk through a case-style product or strategy example.
4. Reference check. If the panel goes well, Huntress contacts former managers or colleagues to confirm your scope, impact, and how you actually operated. This is a real gate, not a formality.
5. What they're really testing. Three signals carry the most weight: (1) security and SMB domain judgment, can you define requirements for a security product and read the SMB threat picture; (2) data-driven execution, do you prioritize and measure with real metrics rather than opinion; (3) cross-functional leadership under ambiguity, can you translate messy technical and customer signals into a clear plan others can build.
