FICO runs a fairly short loop, about 3 to 5 rounds over roughly three to four weeks (Glassdoor and Indeed both put the average near 26 days), starting with a recruiter or HR screen, moving to a hiring manager round that is almost entirely a deep dive on your resume and past projects, then a team or technical round, and a final behavioral or HR conversation. The one thing that defines it: the loop is resume-and-project driven rather than puzzle-driven, so FICO weighs how you actually ran real work over textbook case-study performance, and for technical or analytics PM roles it adds a data and system-design bar fitting a credit-scoring and fraud-analytics company.

The interview process

1. Recruiter / HR phone screen (about 30 min). A recruiter or HR coordinator walks your background and checks role fit and logistics. One January 2026 candidate reported a 30 minute HR call before any manager round. Light filter, not technical.
2. Hiring manager interview (about 45 to 60 min). Reported as the first real round and almost fully CV based: the manager probes the projects and products you have actually shipped and how you ran them. This is where the bulk of behavioral and execution signal is gathered.
3. Team / technical or panel round. Format varies by role. Candidates report an associate manager or technical round; for technical and analytics PM roles this can include system-design thinking (design a system end to end, decide what features to add) and data fluency (SQL over credit and transaction data). Some accounts mention a take-home style exercise such as drafting an initial project plan against defined criteria.
4. Final / HR behavioral round. A closing behavioral conversation, often with HR or a senior leader, focused on teamwork, failure, and how you handle ambiguity and stakeholders. Candidates describe it as more behavioral than technical.
5. What they're really testing. Three signals carry the most weight: (1) real execution ownership, can you show how you drove a big project through obstacles, not just describe a framework; (2) domain and analytics fluency for FICO's credit-scoring, fraud, and decisioning products, especially for technical PM roles; (3) collaboration under friction, how you behave when a team or plan goes sideways.
