EY PM interview guide

EY's PM loop runs about 4 to 8 weeks across three to four stages: a recruiter screen, online assessments plus a recorded HireVue video interview, and a final panel or partner round that pairs behavioral questions with a consulting-style case. The one thing that defines it: it is a Big Four consulting interview wearing a product title, so every answer is scored against EY's competency pillars (teaming, communication, analytical thinking, leadership) using the STAR method, not against pure product-sense rubrics.

The interview process

1. Application and recruiter screen (about 30 min). A recruiter reviews your resume, then runs a short call on your background, why EY, and fit with EY's values. They confirm work authorization and basics before moving you forward.
2. Online assessments plus HireVue video interview. Timed online tests (verbal, numerical, situational judgment, personality) followed by a pre-recorded video interview: 3 to 5 competency questions with about 30 seconds prep and 2 minutes per answer, no retakes. EY scores these against its four competency pillars.
3. Case study or presentation. For a PM or consulting-track role you analyze a business or product scenario and present findings and a recommendation. Interviewers grade structure, analytical rigor, and whether you can explain a complex idea clearly under time pressure.
4. Final panel or partner round (about 45 to 60 min). Two to three interviews with senior managers or partners covering behavioral depth, stakeholder and team-leadership scenarios, your product vision, and cultural fit. This round weighs leadership potential and strategic thinking most heavily.
5. What they're really testing. Three signals dominate: (1) stakeholder and team leadership, can you align engineering, design, and clients with competing priorities; (2) structured analytical thinking, can you break a messy problem down and recommend clearly; and (3) consulting-grade communication and EY fit, can you tell a clean STAR story that maps to EY's competency pillars.
