DRW PM interview guide

DRW's Product Manager loop is short and case-driven: a recruiter screen, a second phone screen, then an onsite of several back-to-back interviews built around a product case study, usually wrapping inside about 3 to 4 weeks. The interview process

1. Recruiter / HR phone screen (about 30 min). A recruiter walks through your background, motivations, and fit. They are checking baseline experience and culture signals (intelligence, motivation, emotional intelligence) before spending a team's time.

3. Onsite: several back-to-back interviews with a case study. The final stage is multiple rounds with different team members, mixing behavioral and situational questions with a product case study and sometimes a presentation of your product vision. DRW runs these back to back and tells you the schedule on arrival; they treat everyone you meet as a potential future coworker, so collaboration is observed, not just answered.
4. Case study / technical product discussion. Within the onsite, expect a case rooted in DRW's domain: defining a product strategy, prioritizing competing desk and team requests, and discussing data systems and software development practice at a level that holds up with engineers. This is where strategic thinking, business acumen, and the ability to synthesize team requests with market trends get tested.
5. What they're really testing. Three signals carry the most weight: (1) translating business and trading-desk needs into functional requirements and a defensible roadmap; (2) technical credibility with data systems and software practices, enough to earn trust from a very technical org without being an engineer; and (3) autonomy plus collaboration, meaning you drive results independently across teams while communicating well with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
