The interview process

2. Product-sense phone interview (45 min). One or two PMs run a live product case. The interviewer asks you to name favorite products, then picks one to go deep on, testing user empathy, metrics, and prioritization. 3. Hiring manager round (45 to 60 min). A mix of situational behavioral questions and a light product case. The HM assesses ownership, how you have driven cross-functional work, and whether your career narrative fits the role level.
4. Take-home homework assignment. Dropbox emails a product prompt; you produce a short PRD or strategy memo and prepare an informal presentation. Multiple Glassdoor and Blind reports from 2023 and 2024 confirm this step exists for mid-level and senior roles.
5. Virtual onsite: panel of 4 to 6 rounds (30 to 45 min each). Rounds cover product intuition, product design and strategy, execution and metrics, a culture or values interview, and an engineering-manager technical conversation. 7. What they're really testing. Three signals dominate: (1) structured product thinking under pressure, meaning can you frame a messy problem cleanly and defend tradeoffs in real time; (2) cross-functional ownership, meaning concrete evidence you drove a project end-to-end without being told what to do; and (3) user-centricity rooted in data, meaning do your feature proposals tie back to measurable user outcomes rather than gut instinct.
