Cotality PM interview guide

Cotality (formerly CoreLogic) runs a fairly standard, moderate-difficulty PM loop that takes about two to four weeks: a recruiter screen, one or two video interviews that mix behavioral STAR questions with scenario-based product and light technical questions, a cross-functional panel, and a final round with the hiring manager or an executive that often asks you to present a case study or product strategy. The one thing that defines the loop: it leans on your real resume and on scenario thinking applied to Cotality's property-data domain (lending, insurance, real estate, government) rather than abstract brain-teaser product design.

The interview process

1. Recruiter screen (20 to 30 min). A phone or video call with a recruiter covering your background, experience, and why Cotality. They confirm fit against the job description and walk you through team and role specifics.
2. Technical / product video interview (up to 2 hours). One or more video rounds that mix scenario-based product questions with technical topics: product development, API integrations, and data analytics, often probing the specific designs and algorithms on your resume. Familiarity with SQL, Python, and the data tools named in the JD helps.
3. Behavioral interview (STAR). Reported as a distinct focus across the loop. Expect Situation-Task-Action-Result questions on prioritization, stakeholder conflict, leadership, and how you drove a product to impact. Interviewers are widely described as friendly and laid back.
4. Cross-functional panel. A panel with senior management and cross-functional partners (engineering, data, business). They judge how you communicate, influence decisions, and collaborate across departments, plus how you prioritize and solve problems.
5. Final round with hiring manager / executive (sometimes skip-level). A more strategic conversation about your vision for the role and how you would contribute to Cotality's goals. You may be asked to present a case study or a product strategy tied to the company's mission and property-data products.
6. What they're really testing. Three signals carry the most weight: (1) depth and ownership on your actual past products, told cleanly in STAR form; (2) scenario product judgment applied to Cotality's property, lending, and insurance domain, backed by enough technical fluency (APIs, data, SQL) to talk credibly with engineers; and (3) cross-functional communication and influence, since the panel weighs collaboration heavily.
