Comcast PM interview guide

Comcast's PM loop runs long: 5 to 10 separate interviews over roughly 2 to 4 months, anchored by a take-home product case (build a product, prepare a deck) that you present to a 4 to 6 person panel. The thing that defines it: it is a product-case-plus-panel marathon that weighs broadband and customer-experience domain knowledge as much as raw product sense.

The interview process

1. Recruiter screen (about 30 min). Phone call on background, role fit, and your interest in Comcast. Recruiters check that your PM experience maps to broadband, devices, or Xfinity-style consumer products before passing you on.
2. Hiring manager / product screen (45 to 60 min). Conversation with the hiring manager about your product work, how you scope problems, and how you partner with engineering and design. Expect early behavioral and product-sense probing here.
3. Take-home product case + deck. Candidates report being given a product to define or improve and asked to build a PowerPoint, with a few days to prepare. Comcast evaluates structure, customer empathy, and how you reason about tradeoffs, not a single right answer.
4. Panel case presentation (about 30 min present). Present the case to a panel of 4 to 6 employees, then field questions live. They watch how you communicate vision to cross-functional stakeholders and defend prioritization under pressure.
5. Behavioral / cross-functional loop (2 to 4 rounds). Separate one-on-one or two-person interviews with team members across product, engineering, and adjacent functions. STAR-style behavioral questions on conflict, escalation, and going above and beyond dominate.
6. Final / leadership interview (about 45 min). Round with senior leadership or a senior director / VP focused on strategic thinking, product vision, ownership, and impact. For senior roles this can extend into multiple leadership conversations.
7. What they're really testing. Three signals carry the most weight: customer empathy and user-centered thinking (can you translate real user pain into product decisions), domain fluency in broadband, networking, and device management, and stakeholder communication, shown most directly in how you present and defend the panel case.
