Applied Intuition PM interview guide

Applied Intuition's PM loop runs about 4 to 5 weeks: a recruiter screen, one or two virtual rounds (including a requirements-doc/PRD exercise), and a multi-round onsite that mixes product cases with a deep behavioral round. The defining trait is that they hire "CEOs of the product": highly technical PMs judged on decision speed, customer obsession, and clear thinking under pressure in the high-stakes autonomy and safety domain.

The interview process

1. Recruiter screen (30 min). Phone or video call with a recruiter covering background, motivation, and fit. Mostly behavioral with light role context; the recruiter stays involved and gives feedback through the loop.
2. Virtual round: requirements doc / PRD exercise. A video interview where candidates create a requirements document or spec live. Tests how you scope an ambiguous problem and translate it into clear, structured product requirements.
3. Product case rounds (onsite). Several casing sessions with senior product and engineering managers. Common formats are drawing wireframes and prioritization exercises; they push on technical depth and on the speed and clarity of your reasoning, not just the final answer.
4. Behavioral / culture-fit round (onsite). An in-person round with senior leaders that probes major decisions across your education and career, sometimes going back a decade (for example, which colleges you applied to, got into, and how you chose). Maps to their values 'Move fast, move safe' and 'Never disappoint the customer.'
5. What they're really testing. Three signals dominate: (1) technical depth plus speed and clarity of thinking under pressure, (2) genuine product ownership, the 'CEO of the product' mindset with relentless customer focus, and (3) sound, fast decision-making, shown both in cases and in how you explain past life and career choices.
