Abridge PM interview guide

Abridge runs a roughly 4-week PM loop (candidates report about 31 days end to end) of 4 to 5 stages: a recruiter screen, a hiring-manager conversation, one or more cross-functional product and behavioral rounds, and a final round with leadership. The thing that defines the loop is healthcare-and-AI fit: nearly every round probes whether you can ship clinically useful workflows for an ambient AI scribe, reason about patient-data privacy, and prioritize ruthlessly under ambiguity.

The interview process

1. Recruiter screen (about 30 min). Initial call on your background, the role, and logistics. Recruiters move fast (candidates report replies in 5 to 7 business days) and screen early for genuine pull toward healthcare and AI, not just general PM strength.
2. Hiring manager interview. Conversation with the PM lead for the domain (note quality, clinical workflows, personalization, or care settings). They probe how you set vision, roadmap, and success metrics, and look for product taste built from real user exposure.
3. Product sense and cross-functional round. A product and case discussion, often with engineering, design, or ML partners. You reason about designing AI to improve clinical documentation, turning unstructured notes into structured data, and the privacy and security tradeoffs that come with patient data.

5. What they're really testing.
