The interview process

1. Recruiter phone screen (~30 min). A recruiter walks through your background, motivation, and logistics, and explains the team and why this PM role exists. They are checking baseline fit, communication, and genuine interest in FullStory's digital experience analytics space before passing you to the hiring manager.
2. Hiring manager video call. A conversation with the PM hiring manager covering your past work, how you operate, and the team's near-term challenges. Expect product philosophy and functional questions here, and candidates report learning the history of the team and the first problems they would be asked to tackle.
3. Peer and cross-functional rounds. Interviews with other PMs, engineering, and design partners probe collaboration and how you build trust across functions. FullStory treats PM as an inherently collaborative craft, so these rounds test how you navigate tradeoffs with engineers and synthesize input from multiple disciplines.
4. Product sense and execution exercise. A working session or case where you critique or improve a product, reason about prioritization, and balance quantitative and qualitative data. Some candidates report a hands-on or technical assessment; the signal is structured product thinking plus comfort with both metrics and user research.
5. Final panel with leaders. A closing round with senior leaders that pressure-tests strategy, values alignment, and your first-90-days thinking. This is the values gut-check: empathy, clarity, and bionics, plus whether you can connect product decisions to business outcomes.
6. What they're really testing. Three signals carry the most weight: (1) empathy, can you synthesize real user insight rather than assert opinions; (2) clarity, can you describe a problem and a strategy so cleanly it connects to business objectives; and (3) judgment under incomplete data, do you have a go-to prioritization framework yet know when to lean on intuition over analysis.
