The interview process

4. Panel presentation / mock presentation (45 to 90 min). You present a product strategy or case study, sometimes with role-play scenarios or a product demo, to test how clearly you communicate complex ideas to a cross-functional audience.
5. Behavioral and leadership round. STAR-format questions tied to Elastic's Source Code values, plus a conversation with a director or VP about distributed-work fit. Then an internal review and offer within days.
6. What they're really testing. Can you hold your own technically with engineers while still thinking like a product leader? They want real examples, comfort with cloud and distributed-systems concepts, customer-centric prioritization, honesty about failure, and genuine fit for a remote-first, values-driven culture. Polish matters less than substance and self-awareness.
